Thames River Boats have been offering scenic cruises between Westminster, Kew, Richmond & Hampton Court for over 40 years. The cruises take place onboard a heritage fleet of traditional River Thames passenger boats which have been modernised to meet modern safety & comfort standards. A cruise with Thames River Boats provides a unique experience showcasing the magnificent architecture & beautiful scenery of the upper reaches of the tidal Thames. All vessels have indoor & outdoor seating, a fully licensed bar, toilet facilities & heating.

We have a range of cruises available ranging from 30-minutes to 3-hours & 30-minutes. Each of the piers & landing stages we operate from a closely situated to some of London’s most popular attractions including the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew & Hampton Court Palace. We also work closely with Historic Royal Palaces, the custodians of Hampton Court Palace, Kew Palace & the Banqueting House (Whitehall) to provide joint excursions exploring the best that these world class attractions & the River Thames have to offer.

Group Rates & Discounts

Our public cruises operate from April to October each year & we have a range of cruises to choose from. During 2021 we will be operating services from Kew to Hampton Court calling at Richmond Landing Stage & we will also be operating our 45-minute Richmond Circular Cruise.

We offer a 20% discount for pre-booked groups of 20 or more passengers on our public services. Bookings can be made over the phone or by completing our contact form on our contact page.

Exclusive Group Cruises

Our Exclusive Group Cruises are new for 2021 & have been designed to give group travel operators extra peace of mind when cruising with us. When you book a Group Exclusive Cruise you & your group will be the only passengers on-board. The boat will have been thoroughly cleaned beforehand & all our COVID precautions will be in place including social distanced seating inside & outside & hand sanitising stations.

You will find all the usual services we offer including a fully licensed bar, toilet facilities, heating & a live commentary from our crew. In addition to the fully licensed bar we can also provide drink packages including tea & coffee, soft drinks & catering options.

Cockney Sparrow

The Cockney Sparrow was built in 1976 at Eel Pie Island. She is a two level boat with a deceptively large enclosed saloon and an open top deck. 

Connaught

M.V Connaught was built by Salter Brothers of Oxford in 1911 & has been cruising between Westminster, Kew, Richmond & Hampton Court for over 100 years. Connaught regularly operates on our services & is also available for private charters.

Princess Freda

Princess Freda was built in 1926 by T.C. Letcher on the Isle of Wight, and has been restored to a particularly high standard.
